Plrrz help me on shamppooos ?!!?

i dont know which shampoo to get!

i want super soft hair, thats shiney as well.

my hair is normal.

i was thinking of either redken all soft or biosilk silk therapy. what would you recommend?

Plrrz help me on shamppooos ?!!?
redken is good, but i'd recommend aussie. i have one that's specifically for shine, and it makes my hair really soft. For shine, you should use a shine spray. they are like $3.00 at drug stores and looks amazing!
Reply:Try John Freida in formula for your hair color. Always use the frizz control after shampooing. Good Luck!
Reply:I use John Freida, People tell me all the time how shiney my hair is.
Reply:redken all soft is good...so is redken smooth down..

Back to Basics Coconut Mango Rich Moisture Shampoo also works really well...

but i would REALLY recommend TIGI S Factor Smoothing Shampoo! its wonderful one of my favorites!

Which conditioner works for dry, frizzy unshiny, unsilky and hay like hair.?

What is biosilk therapy and how does it work and does it have a age limit one it and also does it involve chemicals?

Which conditioner works for dry, frizzy unshiny, unsilky and hay like hair.?
idk about the biosilk thing BUT if you have hair like that, the best conditioner to use is AG deep conditioning.

AG products are used in a lot of upscale salons and work wonders! i've used it myself and it is truly amazing.

check it out!

Reply:Biosilk is really really good! i use it but throughout the day you may get tired of the scent it leaves. Its a great scent its just a little strong after a while.. You may also want to try Matrix Sleek look. but mostly you should try using a thick conditioner called Cholesterol for a treatment. For a treatment you just leave the conditioner in your hair for about 15 minutes with a plastic cap on.. that should help restore the moisture in your hair and keep it from being frizzy and it repairs most damage. You can find this condtioner in any drugstore. Good Luck!
Reply:Redken's smooth down
Reply:have you ever tried infusion 25....It is a leave in liquid conditioner. I put it in a spray bottle and spritz it on my hair after every shampoo. It does wonders for damaged hair. You can get it at Wal Mart. There is also a serum for frizzy hair which helps to add shine and helps when combing your hair without pulling out your hair from tangles. You can also get this at Wal Mart but the one that works the best you can get at Fantastic Sams. I have always kept my hair permed and highlighted. Both of these products have kept my hair healthy. Another thing you can do is take a wash out conditioner and saturate your hair with it and cover your hair with saran wrap and sit under a hair dryer for about 20 minutes then rinse out. Years ago before I knew of Infusion or the serum I had done this and it wasn't long before I started getting compliments on how shiny my hair was. Before spending a lot of money give these a try and I'm sure you will be glad you did. Oh! if you don't have a hair dryer to sit under it will still work. Just be sure to wrap all your hair with the saran wrap tightly and keep a towel handy because the body heat will cause it to run and could get into your eyes. GOOD LUCK
Reply:Aveda Damage Remedy - really worked for me after my hair was fried from coloring.

Wavy/curly hair styling?

i have hair that is wavy, kind of curly depending on what i do with it. right now i straighten it all the time, but im sick of having to do that all the time and i would like to find a style that works with my hair type.usually when i 'attempt;' to style my hair wavy, i put some mousse or biosilk in it when its damp, then i blow dry it and i try to put the strands the stretch out the curly bit and make it more wavy. it always turns out puffy and gross. what can i do to make my hair look decent?

Wavy/curly hair styling?
I would recommend doing what you are doing but do not blow dry it because then it poofs it out what I do with mine is when I get out of the shower I use biosilk hair serum then I brush my hair and put the part the way I want it then apply mouse, usually Herbal Essence mouse and crunch it a little to give it the curly look. Do not blow dry your hair, it makes it dry and your hair becomes weak. See my hair pics on my myspace. www.myspace.com/jmelee85
Reply:Be sure to use a diffuser on your blow dryer and use shampoo, conditioner and styler that is for curly hair (Dove is inexpensive and works well). Be sure not to touch your hair too much with your hands as this will make it frizzier.
Reply:I have the same hair type as you and it is hard to deal with, I cut mine off really short as it suits me better but when I had it long I used to use Umberto Giannini products, they worked very well for my hair. They do a shampoo and conditioner and styling products for curly hair, After washing my hair I would wrap it in a towel for about 15 minutes and then tip my head upside down and scrunch my hair up into my fists in sections to encourage the curl. I let it naturally dry and then scrunched through the mousse from the same range (about a golf ball sized amount) and then I would use a diffuser to dry it, upside down as it adds more body. Once it was dry I would then spritz with hair spray (still holding my head upside down) and then when you stand up right again it should be really nice curls. My hair was about chin length in a bob so it worked pretty well most days.
Reply:I have very curly hair, when I blow dry (always with a diffuser) it gets curlier. If you want more wave than curl I would suggest applying mouse and some leave in conditioner when hair is soaking wet, scrunch it with a towel and let it air dry. Blow drying, even with a diffuser always makes my hair bigger....
Reply:I have wavy/curly hair too. My hair is thin though and when I straighten it it gets really flat. So I usually try to style mine curly. Mouse is not strong enough to hold your hair. I wash mmy hair, then brush it back with my fingers, get some spray gel and spray it all over your wet/damp hair and i mean ALL over. Make sure you distribute it from root to tip (regualr gel wont work). throw your head upside down, and blow dry keeping your head upside down, DO NOT run your fingers through your hair this will give it the poof. Dry your hair COMPLETELY or you will have the poof when it drys on its own. Flip your head back up and tame it down. Its should be perfect and ready to go. It doesnt take very long to style it this way and it looks great. thats why I do it! hope this helps!
Reply:hmm i guess im suggesting to get a hair cut..or use stronger gel..dont blow dry it anymore..i have short curly hair and it gets frizzy but i use tresemme extra strength hold black bottle wth yellow hints on it. i just towel dry my hair then comb it through and gel it..and it combs out pretty tidy..hmm well dont put so much moose or anything in it..and make sure the kinda give it a few brushes as it dries..that way its no so limp or anything :]

just tring to help!! ^-^
Reply:First, do not use mousse. You mention you have problems with frizzy, puffy hair...the purpose of mousse is to add volume to the hair...you're not in need of the volume it seems. I would recommend a product line called Deva Curl. I know it's sold in salons, and I don't know how much you are willing to spend to maintain your curl, but this line is excellent. The normal shampoos on the market, even those for curly hair, contain ingredients that are drying and damaging to curls. These shampoos, conditioners and gels (not hard-drying, stiff gels...very touchable soft) work wonders on curly hair.

Also when you towel dry your hair when you finish your shower, do not use a regular towel. The loops on them will grab strands of hair and pull them apart, causing the frizzy look as it dries. Instead use a cotton towel or cotton tee shirt. This will take the wetness out while leaving your curls intact. And of course, use a wide tooth comb or pick....the best tool though would always be your fingers. If at all possible run your hands through your hair to separate any tangles. Sometimes a comb or pick will separate the curls too much and in the end your hair looks big and puffy.

If you have any more questions, I'll be happy to help.
Reply:I would suggest NOT chemical straightening your hair. That is very damaging and can dry your hair out horribly. To control your waves/curls, after you shampoo/condition hair apply a leave in conditioner to soaking wet hair and comb through. Let it air dry so it's damp. Then apply mousse for soft hold, or gel for a more firm hold, and a frizz cream. When blow drying hair ALWAYS use a diffuser. If not, the hot heat from the dryer will knock your curls or waves out and make it frizzy. I use Garnier Fructis shampoo/conditioner and Aussie hair products. I have natural curly hair so I feel your pain!! I hope this helps out and good luck!
Reply:I hear ya sister!

I came from the same boat as you, sounds like. My current solution is that I got Japanese straightening done on my hair (approximately 8 hours, and $400 including tip) for smooth, stick straight, silky shiny zero-frizz hair. I think wavy hair is beautiful but I think the hassle of having to style it EVERY DAY was becoming way too much, and the convenience of having straight hair was sooo nice- hop in the shower, hop out, towel dry, and head out and turn heads. If you opt for this, find someone who uses Liscio system, and make sure they do the procedure fairly often and have references because I went to someone who didn't have much experience to save money and I regretted it.

There are also curl relaxers, a more intermediary option that I haven't personally tried, but my friend has had some luck with, where it costs less and merely relaxes some of the curl to get out frizz. You are left with wavy hair that should be easier to manage. However I can't recommend anything specific.

However, if that doesn't sound like an alternative to you, there isn't too much that you can do to alleviate poof. I would definitely recommend using a diffuser on your hair dryer to keep the shape of your curls. Flip your head over and focus heat on your roots to give them lift so that you aren't doomed to have pyramid syndrome (hair flat at the roots and super poofy at the ends). If you towel dry your hair, stop, because it aggravates the shaft of your hair. Instead, try using a cotton t-shirt and rubbing down the hair shaft to soak up excess water.

Good luck!
Reply:blow dry w/a diffuser.
Reply:Read the book Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey. I have hair like yours and this book was a huge help. I used to kinda hate my hair because it just looked frizzy all the time, but now I like my hair and can do more with it. Give it a try!
Reply:OK...

It's very easy to get a beautiful head of wavy/curly hair with your hair type. Buy yourself some frizz-ease/curl creme or leave-in conditioner rather than mousse and buy a wide tooth comb instead of a brush. Also buy a diffuser attachment for your hairdryer.

When you get out of the shower (having used a good shampoo and a fair amount of conditoner), put in the frizz-ease/curl creme/leave in conditioner and comb your hair through. Then section the hair into lots of equal sections and twist those sections in order to make you look (temporarily, mind!) as if you have dreadlocks (ish). Turn on your hairdryer with diffuser onto the lowest possible setting and gently tease the twists of hair into the barrel of the diffuser by having the hairdryer pointing upwards into the hair. Use a kind of twisting motion with the hairdryer and, keeping it pointed upwards, rough dry the twists up to the root all around. Don't keep the hairdryer on one spot for too long and don't dry the hair for too long- it should still be slightly damp when you're done.

Use your fingers to tease open the twists of hair and you should have created glossy curls. DO NOT USE A BRUSH ON THEM! If there is a knot, use your fingers or the wide tooth comb. Using a brush will make it really frizzy. Tackle frizz with a curl creme or spray.

Hope this helps!
Reply:you can either get a perm if you want to wear it curly or you can have it straightened with a chemical that is supposed to make your hair Straight without doing anything to it. YOu can go to a salon and they will do it for you!
Reply:blow dry on low heat. Heat is what makes it puffy and dry looking. Try hot curlers. If your hair is really wavy, using the curlers will make it less wavy and even. Try a shorter style so if there is more involved with getting it to where you want, less to deal with.
Reply:let it dry naturally and see what kind of body your hair has. from there see how you can style. the straightening and constant blowdrying gets tiring and can damage your hair. i use some leave-in conditioners and other creams to cut down on the puffyness

Help!! I'm looking for a temporary (wash and wear type) of hair straightener.?

I'm mixed with african american and mexican and I have natural wavy hair. I've been relaxing it for 10 years, every so often (maybe every 5-6 months) But I'm getting tired of the harsh chemicals and I don't want it to be permanently straight. I still want some versatility. I'm having a hard time finding a product that I can use that isn't as harsh as a chemical relaxer , but will help in releasing the curl pattern of my hair so I can wear it staight. I've heard of curl away, biosilk(not good), and redken. Are there any other products out there to help with this ? Which is the best? And I already have a sedu flat iron, but using the flat iron often isn't to good for my hair.

thanks a bunch!!

Help!! I'm looking for a temporary (wash and wear type) of hair straightener.?
there isn't a product that'll straighten just for the day with no blowdry/flatiron. All the non chemical products made for smoothing and straightening are made for use with thermal tools (dryers, irons). The best you can hope for out of them with no tools is to smooth any frizz, but they won't make it straight. Sorry to tell you it's either keep relaxing, or use a flat iron, but with either choice make sure you are doing regular conditioning treatments.

Are professional hair products sold at supermarkets legit?

on profressional hair products, such as paul mitchell, biosilk, etc. , there is a disclaimer stating that the good is only guaranteed if sold at a hair salon. i recently purchased the same product, one from a mastercuts and another from a grocery store, publix. i immediately noticed the conditioner i acquired at the grocer's had far less quality and efficacy compared to the conditioner i got at the hair salon. so is the disclaimer true? products not sold at hair salons aren't legit?!

Are professional hair products sold at supermarkets legit?
The drugstores buy the defective batches from the manufacturers. You can only buy the real deal in salons, and if they don't work, salons are required to give you your money back. They are legit, just poor quality.
Reply:My sister is a popular stylist at a popular salon up here in MN. She says that the salon products that are sold at the grocery stores or regular retail store are NOT the same quality as those salon products bought at a salon. She says the regular stores use the salon type products to bring in more money even though they are not quality hair care products.

Be safe, buy quality hair care products at your salon and stay away from the "salon" products at the non-salon stores.
Reply:Legit but lower quality. Notice the lower price?
Reply:i used to work in boots and they make some of the salon brands eg toni and guy that they also sell in their stores, there are some others as well, so these are legit, whether they are a different product from those used in salons is a different question that i dont know the answer too. salon prices are a rip off tho in uk at least. my daughter brought redken in NY at a fraction of the cost of it here an d she worked in a salon and got a staff discount on it!

How Can I Get Frizz Free Stright or Wavy Hair?

How Can I Get Frizz Free Stright or Wavy Hair?
Silicone is the active ingredient in anti-frizz products, but most silicone products (like the ones you mentioned) water their products down with alcohol, mineral oil or other fillers. This makes them less effective, and your hair type may need something stronger.

Look for a pure silicone product like Simply Stylin' (www.simplystylinhair.com). It has no fillers and works extremely well at controlling frizz. Their frizz is the best. Plus, it's not as expensive as a lot of pure silicone products I've seen.
Reply:have you tried matrix sleek look. it makes your hair beautiful. use a great quality flat iron too. like CHI **sedu** or *Solia*

What to do with my thick poofy hair..?

Well I want to do something than just sticking it in a ponytail...Some products I have at home are...biosilk silk therapy, garnier fructis anti-frizz serum, mousse(sp?),and other random hair products....I just took a shower so my hair is damp right now...I have a blow-dryer and a straightener(which doesnt work too well).....Any suggestions would be great

What to do with my thick poofy hair..?
You could straighten it! Wait till your hair is dry though, or else you will fry your hair!

1. Blow Dry hair

2. Straighten hair all around head, make sure it is evenly straight all the way around.

3. Part your hair on the side

That should be really cute. And it is simple too. If your hair is thick, I wouldn't use mousse, it is usually volumizing, and by the way you described your hair, you don't need any more of.

What is a good product to use to protect you hair when using a straightner?

i only use biosilk- does that help any

What is a good product to use to protect you hair when using a straightner?
There are many elements in nature that can be stressors for your hair. Think about it, the harshness of brushing, chlorine, elements in water, and all the numerous ways to hold up your hair (ponytail holders anyone?) In addition to all these things that we cannot avoid, straightening can also be very damaging to your hair. You have the right idea to look for a good hair product for treatment. I would first recommend buying a good shampoo and conditioner. I recommend Biolage or Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. . For most of the week I would use these products but for one day out of the week it is a good idea to use a Clarifying shampoo. A clarifying shampoo has one job and that is to remove buildup of gels, mousses, pomades and other products that weigh down your hair with regular use. Biolage and Paul Mitchell are both great candidates for this shampoo as well. After shampooing and conditioning, apply a leave-in-conditioner to your hair. I also recommend that once ever week or so use a deep, leave in conditioning treatment such as Paul Mitchell The Masque, which is an intensive treatment. I realize that these products can be rather pricey but every hairstylist I have asked said that these products make a huge difference and are well worth the money compared to products such as Fructise, Herbal Essences, and John Frieda

my hair has no visible damage and i straighten it every day! plus it makes your hair sooo shiny

I am not at home, so I can't tell you the exact name. You can get it at any drug store. I also have used Biosilk, which I love, when I ran out I bought some John Frieda Frizz ease extra strength which works just as good.
Reply:Use a Heat Protector, You can like get it a any Wal*Mart=)

How can i keep my hair from frizzing?? I'm black and my hair frizzes when i sweat. Not to mention humidity!?

I use biosilk on my hair and it's really pretty when when i'm not sweating or its not humid out... but when it is my hair gets ridiculous! And i'm a cheerleader this year so i'll be sweating and be in the humid air! What can i do to stop sweating so much or to make my hair less frizzy!

How can i keep my hair from frizzing?? I'm black and my hair frizzes when i sweat. Not to mention humidity!?
use frizz ease serum by john frida

local drugstores
Reply:you should get japanese hair straightening. that way your hair won't frizz. or you can use gel, mousse, or hair moisturzer if you don't want to straighten it.
Reply:If You have curly hair you should not be brushing your hair! however with strait or wavey hair ask a hair stylest about some hir sprays to make it calm down!!!! i use bumble and bumble beauty products i suggest using them! hope this helps
Reply:Well, to be honest, there are really no products you can use to prevent your hair from becoming poofy if you are sweating. The moisture from your sweat is what makes your hair poofy. I suggest when you cheer or participate in any activity the makes you sweat, is to wear your hair in a nice neat pony tail. Also, wear a cloth, tie headband around the front of you hair. This will help lay your roots down.

I have the same problem with humidity. The only thing that has helped my hair combat frizz is either wearing it in a pony tale, using a ceramic straightener, or pressing your hair (HAI to recommend a quality ceramic straightener). Both methods work really well in combating the poofy look.

I also recommend that you use Paul Mitchel's Super Skinny series. If all else fails talk to a professional hair dresser. They can help you figure out methods that will best work with your hair texture. Hope this helps.
Reply:I have the same problem. I am mixed and have very curly hair that I always straighten that curls in humidity. I just bought this product that you may want to consider trying by John Frieda. Check out the link below:

Tell me what u think?10 points for best answer?

which is better for dry hair with break ends,or which brand is better

granier fructis or biosilk?

Tell me what u think?10 points for best answer?
Biosilk isn't good for your hair .. i had it and it made my hands dry, and not only that it also made my hair dry! .. can u imagine .. also it tangled my hair a lot and my hair just looked lifeless .. it worked fine the first time i used it but after that i chucked it .. it really dosn't work.

This is your best bet .. is the Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditionar because i used to use it and really to know if it works or not the real test is when you get out of the shower and actually try to comb your hair out .. well i was amazed because i combed my hair and it went through just like a knife cutting through butter .. it glided and my hair was so shiny and had such a nice texture..

Try Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner for Dry/Damaged Hair .. this will take care of the split ends and really give your hair a nice texture .. and wont let you down

Hope i helped :)
Reply:biosilk
Reply:Actually I have dry hair with split ends and I use Infusium first. Great stuff and helps the ends from getting so frizzy. Then I use garnier fructis~~anything of theirs works great for my hair.
Reply:biosilk, with regular trims.
Reply:The best shampoo and conditioner will have the ingredient "protein" in it. I do not have a bottle of either one so I can't tell you. But that is the ingredient that will help your hair the most.

Use pure, extra virgin coconut oil. It may sound crazy but it works. I swear. Use a gentle shampoo, then rub the coconut oil into your hair and rinse it out. I do it, even though I don't have dry hair. It makes it shiny and pretty! My friend (who is black) is the one who told me to try it. Her hair is a disaster if she doesn't do it. Give it a try.

A hair product similar to Baby Oil?

I have a curly frizzy poofy mess on my head and I've found that baby oil is the best product out there to wear my hair curly or straight. It weighs down the poof, defines the curls, shines the straightness, no static, makes my hair soft, and it smells nice. However, I've heard that baby oil is bad for your hair, so I'm wondering if there's a hair product out there similar that will do all those things I described. Maybe a product meant for African American hair would work for me? (I'm Caucasian...)

Here are a list of products I've tried, so nobody recommends them: mousse/gel: makes poofier

hair spray: controls the static, but sticky and unmanagable

Biosilk: smells good and makes my hair soft, but also makes my hair really staticcy

ION Straight: Doesn't remove the frizzies once it dries

Frizz-ease brand: static and poof

Brilliant brunette: smells sooo good, but doesn't remove the poof.

So, you see my dilemma, lol.

A hair product similar to Baby Oil?
actually I have really curly hair and I know how you feel. I like Silk Elements glosser (it's available at Sally's in the Packs and Vials section) This is the only thing that works for me. . . I love it and the great thing about Sally's is if it doesn't work for you, you can return it for your money back or an exchange! :)
Reply:Buy Cirtus Shine. It works wonders. My hair is JUST like yours, but I never tried baby oil.
Reply:hair spray

What are some easy styles for thick, curly, frizzy hair?

my hair is very thick and sometimes poofy. that's not the problem though. i love my hair and everything about it. im not complaining. i just would like to know some alternatives to a headband or leaving my hair down. maybe something more controlled that will still look nice!! please DO NOT tell me the names of good hairdressers or hair products, because i have that. i need to know how to quickly and easily do my hair with only a brush and hair accessories (and obviously shampoo %26amp; conditioner)...and possibly biosilk or very little products. THANKS SO MUCH! I WILL REWARD THE BEST ANSWER!

Best way to find hairstyles is online.

I have a list of good and fresh hairstyle websites where you can find good ideas.

Just mail me at kelli1132@yahoo.com with subjet Hairstyle . I will send a link of such websites.

Reply:I have similar hair and I part my hair on the left, about 1 inch back and swoop it toward my ears. I use a soft brush to get all the frizzes, and place it in a ponytail. Then I twist the pony tail and start making a bun. To modify it sometimes I twist and make half a bun, and place a clip at the top of the bun, let the loose ends hang, add curl enhancer, or use my straightening iron on the ends..... Moral of the story, EXPERIMENT!
Reply:You could try a hair straightener. It could make your hair less "poofy" and easier to control. That's what I do. I also use Anti poof cream in my hair right after I get out of the shower, and that helps too.

Hope I've helped!!!

Thick, poofy hair?

i have thick poofy hair, and no matter how i get it cut / thinned nothing ever works, i have a salon flat iron but it takes about an hour to dry it cause its so thick and then another hour to totally straighten my hair after a half an hour i just give up and put my bangs and hair up.

I've tried all the products like herbal essences dangerously straight, frizz ease, fructis sleek and shine, tresemme, and even biosilk doesnt work for me.

I have no more ideas for what to do with my hair, and it's geting to the point where im so sick of trying to fit in 2 hours before work/school/going out just to do my hair.

Next paycheck im thinking of buying a chi straightener, but i've heard they break and i dont wanna spend almost 200 dollars for something thats going to break again?

it works so well. it drys and straightens your hair at the same time. i have thick hair too and it really works and in like half an hour my hair gets completely dry and straight. but you still need a flat iron just for the tips if you want them really straight but that only take a minute or two
Reply:Chis are amazing straiteners. They have warrantees for them too. I have thick poofy hair as well, I take showers at night, and then i go to bed, then in teh morning straiten my hair. it works cuz my hair is already dry, all i have to do is straiten it. Also, try sunsilk's anti-poof shampoo, it works wonders. Also, try using a leave-in-conditioner after you get out of the shower. Also, if you go to a beauty store where they sell beauty products, they have this straitening spray by ion. Its heat protection, so it protects your hair and gets it way straiter.
Reply:K so my hair ISNT think but its seriously poofy.

REALLY poofy.

So what i do is...

use sunsilk de-poofer.

buy the shampoo the conditioner AND the 24/7 creme.

then go and straighten it.

however you want to.

but after you straighten it do this.

part your hair down in half.

take one half and wrap it around your head.

keep it tight with BOBBY PINS.

Use only bobby pins.

then get the other half and do the same.

this really helps and if you sleep with it...even better.

if you want you can try straightening in the morning for touch ups but that wont be nessesary.

lol.

anyways... um... i hope it helps.

it does for me.
Reply:I also have thick hair, yeah its tough having thick hair, i suggest using Matrix Biolage for thick coarse hair, its a shampoo and they sell a conditioner also for thick coarse hair. After using both blow dry your hair dont make it completely dry though, and yes buy a CHI iron it works great at getting rid of volume that thick hair gives us. CHI has a great return policy, you can return it at anytime to any salon that sells them and they give you a new CHI that works absolutely free and you don't even need a receipt !!! oh yeah and some run for a 100 dollars.
Reply:I have the same problem but my hair is long so its not that poofy. I use aussie and sometimes sunsilk. But aussie works the best for me. I use the "root cleanser + tip mender" brand of aussie it works wonders. you should try it. they got it at walmart for like $4.00. Good luck
Reply:Chi is a very good straightener and it wont take an hour to straighten your hair. Try T3, GHD, or proselect straighteners. i have thick hair too and my hair straightens flat in less than 10 minutes with my ghd straightener.
Reply:Don't waste your money on addtiional irons, have you tried a mild relaxer, just to help straighten the hair slightly (makes it more manageable) that usually helps. (a mild relaxer is not that harsh on the hair (no-lye).
Reply:I have the EXACT same hair.

I also tried everything, and longed for the nice shiny hair that everyone else could get by straightening their hair in 6 minutes.

Here are some things that, though will never give me salon results, do make a HUGE difference:

Leave your conditioner in for a long, long time. I have medium length hair and keep it in for about 4 minutes. It makes your hair heavier and keeps the frizzies down.

Do invest in a nice straightener. They actually do work. You have to section your hair into about a million little pieces, and it takes forever, and you have to go very very slowly. But, the results are that nice, shiny, perfectly straight hair that you always wanted.

I just sort of embraced my thick hair. I put mouse in it, scrunch it a little and go. I kinda like how thick it is now, and I get compliments all the time. Before, when I straightened I didn't get any. At least we won't be bald when we are old! hahaha

Is This Ok???

okay i am wondering is this routine okay. im only doing this when i wash my hair and i dont go to the beautician. i wash my hair about once a week. i am african american and i have dry, medium hair(in thickness) and right above my shoulders and im thinking about getting it cut and highlights for school which for me starts in about a week and a half.

1. wash hair with REdken smooth down shamoo

2. condition with Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm

3. apply biolage hydra-seal creme

4.apply Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum before blow drying

5. after drying apply CHi silk infusuion

6. flat iron or curl my hair .

7. apply wax works to the edges and spray some BioSilk Silk Therapy Shine On.

and does anyone know any good hairstyles or websites with how to do the hairstyles. and thank you sooo much

Is This Ok???
well, i do not know much about how to take care of african american hair (no offense), but i have heard that it is drier-ish that caucasion hair. i don't know why you are only washing your hair once a week but i would reccomend washing it every other day with a good moisterising shampoo for african american hair. maybe conditioner too. what i use to straighten my hair is this heat protectant spray made by kms california. it's sold at beautyfirst salon. i dunno where else though. i straighten my hair every day too. make sure that when ur hair is wet you only use a wide-tooth comb on it. do NOT brush it. make sure your flat iron is ceramic. they're expensive but help prevent your hair from getting damaged. that's about all i know. o, and wash your hair w/ warm-cool water. hot water damages ur hair.
Reply:Just make it smell good. Good like when I lay my head on it. There is nothing like the smell of a womans pillow with pretty clean hair.
Reply:yep ur routine sound fine =D
Reply:you shouldnt use so many products.
Reply:well i think u r applying lots of products....u should let ur hair breathe so that it is healthier, and not so dry!

Any suggestions on how to care for my very dry hair while the damaged hair grows out?

I damaged my hair by coloring it too often. Although the condition of the hair is improving, it's still very dry. I use Redken shampoo and conditioner and Biosilk serum. I never use a hairdryer or flat iron on it. I get fairly regular trims.

Any suggestions on how to care for my very dry hair while the damaged hair grows out?
I am in the same boat...I have been using the Aveda sap moss shampoo, conditioning detangler, and the pre-shampoo treatment. That stuff works like a charm!
Reply:olive oil, works great and its cheap, I put some all over my hair, put a plastic bag over it, let it sit 20-30 min., and wash out in the shower, you might have to shampoo twice, I'm also dry,I'm trying to grow out my hair,I have not cut my hair since feb. and the olive oil, I think has saved it, I think I should trim it soon, good luck! :)
Reply:I would recommend a good mayonnaise treatment twice a month. I know it sounds gross but I promise this will DEFINATELY work!! All you have to is shampoo with your favorite shampoo, AVEDA has a wonderful line of shampoo for dry hair (Sap Moss and Brilliance). After shampoo, apply mayonnaise and comb through for even distribution. Cover with plastic cap or warm towel for 25-30 minutes. Rinse thoroghly with warm water. When all traces are gone rinse with cool water to lock in nutrients. Whola!! :)
Reply:I am a student at a Redken school in Florida and I would like to know which redken products you are using. I reccommend talking to your stylist about getting a chemistry shot ..... the strength shot and the soft shot are what I would use on you. I would also have you use Extreme Shampoo. However keep in mind that Extreme restores the hair to it's natural "fiber" state. To get the soft and silky hair everyone loves you may want to go with a "softening" conditioner or treatment. I also reccomend looking at the styling products Redken has as well. Go to redken.com and find a local Certified Hair Colorist in your city. They are usally the most updated on all Redken product information. Also if you are continuing to color your hair consider the Shades EQ line from Redken. It acts as a conditioner as well as being a color.

A ceramic flat iron will work...maybe you are using the wrong kind. I've tried a chi before and it didn't work too well on my hair because it didn't get hot enough...mine is a Paul Mitchell and it gets up to 400 degrees. Also make sure you blow dry it completely first. And you may have to go over it more than once. I section my hair and go over every section twice. Good luck!

What hair products are actually good for your HAIR? WHich are worth the extra money?

i want to know for real what products and ingredients in hair products like shampoo and conditioner , are actually good for your hair and improve its condition? What products are actually worth the extra money?? Does spending extra money on your shampoo/conditioner really make a difference, rather than using like Suave or Tresemme? I just bought Biosilk shampoo and conditioner, but i almost feel like my hair feels harder aafterword, not softer and healthier. Any brands u can name is a plus too. Are brands containing silk proteins good for your hair?

What hair products are actually good for your HAIR? WHich are worth the extra money?
biolage and aquage
Reply:my favorite products are redken... they're more expensive, but coming from a cosmetologist, i'd say spend the money to really take care of your hair... you'll notice a difference... they have different shampoos %26amp; conditioners to fit different hair types, as well as plenty of styling aids...
Reply:Don't waste your money on expensive shampoos. Read the labels and they all have the same stuff in them. It's what you put on your hair after a good shampoo is what is important. To lighten it and give it shine, put a few sprinkles of H2O2 on a wipe and and spread on your hair. A few drops of saline solution will detangle it and decrease the static and to nourish it add a few drops of vitamin E oil. Most wipes contain vitamin E and aloe so they are a excellent conditioners and an inexpensive, easy, no mess way to condition and improve your hair. To give your hair an herbal conditioner, try a few drops of rosemary essential oil on the wipe. This is excellent for the hair for shine and conditioning. Finally, the only way to add protein to your hair is through your diet. You are what you eat.
Reply:For cheap but good there is pantene and garnier( I don't mean really cheap!normal price) What's really good but is a lot more money is aveda. It works really well. Even for damaged hair!

Good Luck!
Reply:I buy the cheap Pantene. It works good. But the thing is I use a VO5 hot oil treatment every week or few days. Your mother and grandmother wasn't right about that one. That stuff works. I have waist length hair that's even dyed and it looks good because I use it.
Reply:I don't like any of the expensive shampoo and conditioners. They make my hair feel dirty after using them. I like pantene ice shine and Herbal essence hello hydration. Tresseme is good but I feel like I have to use alot everytime. If you wanna colour boost, try John Frieda line. Alos, make sure to use a detangler after washing your hair. It really helps to keep your hair shiny and soft. Hope this helps. Goodluck P.S. I have normal, fine hair.

You need to get a good hair cut, buy smoothing shampoo and conditoner and use some frizz ease. Before straightening use a hairdryer and brush and make sure your hair is 100% dry before using the flat iron. Chi is a very good flat iron. Make sure that it is on it's highest setting and has heated up completely. Then do one section at a time going over it 2-3 times before the next section. I have frizzy hair too, and if I take my time then my hair comes out smooth, but if I skip a step or rush it....Then Poof!
Reply:Well, first, that link isn't click able and theres a ... so the whole link isn't there to copy %26amp;%26amp; paste, so i don't exactly know how you want it. First I'd suggest turning up the temp on your iron. If that doesn't work then put a lot of smoothing gel in your hair %26amp;%26amp; anti frizz gel in your hair. Which I'm sure you've tried those 2, so time to move on to step 3, read this:

If that didn't answer your question then maybe try going to a salon and asking about permanent straightening solutions.
Reply:frizz-eaze hair serum.
Reply:i dont know if my answer is healthy for your hair but here it is anyway. my daughters hair is the same way i straighten it 4 her all the time using a plain old iron and some shine. i spray her hair first with the shine then i put the iron directly on the hair while holding a towel underneth so i wont burn my hand. just pass over each section a couple of times until you get it as straight as u want it. it is also much easier if u have some one else help you so u wont burn yourself

I have split ends, what's one way of fixing them?

they are long.

they have other split ends attached.

my tips look white.

i use biosilk.

i straghten my hair everyday with a ceramic straightener.

i also use a treseme spray that should help protect against heat.

I have split ends, what's one way of fixing them?
The only way to "fix" them is a good trim. Hair doesn't repair itself. I would go to a good salon %26amp; get a professional trim, %26amp; talk to the stylist about products to work properly with your scalp %26amp; hair type to prevent more damage.
Reply:Do you mean "whats the ONLY way of fixing them/"

Simply put. Get a decent end trim!!!
Reply:Well, the only way i would know how would be going to a salon. I know i'ts not much help, but.

Lucks to ya!
Reply:There is only one way to fix them but many on how to prevent them.

For fixing, think more about getting rid of. A haircut. Have the dead ends trimmed off and your hair wont be as frizzy and will grow back a little faster if you get it trimmed on a semi regular basis of 3 to 6 weeks depending on when your hair needs it. I get mine done about once a month, more if I've played with the color in between then. That will solve it for the now.

Now for preventing. Bio silk is good but think about switching to a salon started brand, like Paul Mitchell or Treseme. Walmart is usually pretty cheap to buy even those. Also, don't straighten your hair every day. That fries your hair, work with the curl or wave using a light gel or moose in-between days of straightening. It will save you from having split ends back faster. There are hair straighteners out there though that aren't as bad for your hair. They have heat releasing holes that give off steam as you go down the length. Better than pushing the heat down the length especially if your hair is damp or wet when you do it. Okay, and finally use a conditioner for your type of hair. Mine is long and thick, I use a full body conditioner with extra moisture to prevent friz. Maybe splurge more for the conditioner but it is worth it.

Good luck with healthy hair!
Reply:well its because you straighten your hair everyday that you have split ends. get a trim regularly.
Reply:get your dead ends trimmed and use conditioner afterwards to protect the rest of your hair
Reply:there is no way to "fix" split ends. you need to trim them off. try not straightening your hair every single day... maybe just a couple times a week. use extra conditioner on your hair in the shower and leave it on for a few minutes before you rinse.
Reply:There is no solution to split ends except cutting them off. There are definitely ways to prevent split ends, but not "glue them together." Straightening your hair every day will cause split ends no matter what; I don't think the heat-protection spray protects against split ends, but you should probably buy shampoo and conditioner that's made to strengthen your hair.
Reply:Cut your hair
Reply:shave all of your hair
Reply:First off, you have to cut them off, otherwise they will make the problem worse. After that, you need a good conditioner and go easy on it.

Reply:1st Sweety the problem is you put way to much heat to your hair. The Treseme you use works on a very small % scale, you straighten it everyday is counter acting that small %.

The 1st thing I suggest is 2 straighten hair once a week, I know that's a dramatic change but if you "wrap" it immediately after straightening and at nite b4 bed your hair will remain straight %26amp;soft. It will also decrease the amount/serverity of split ends.

#2 Get a healthy trim 2 start which may end up being a cut (at 1st) after the intial trim keep up with a great trim once a month. This decreases split ends reguardless of your hair routine but w/ the above advice it'll keep your ends healthy and fresh 4ever! An added benefit to trim once a month is makes your hair grow!

Good luck sweety
Reply:1/4" trim, if it's not too bad

Attention: All Flatironers with curly hair I need help?

Okay so I finally found a decent flatiron not a Chi but it gets my hair straight in under an hour before I made the hundred and something dollar commitment I wanted to see how often I would actually use it so I bought a Remington wet 2 straight and it works pretty good for the 30 dollars it cost. It looks really straight silky and pretty at first but then as time goes by the waves and curls creep back here is my routine let me know whats missing I need something to keep my hair straight.1.wash and condition with biolage ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner 2.loreal hot n straight to cut down on drying time and biosilk glazing gel to reduce frizz(I thought that this would help it stay straight 3.separate hair into four sections then flat iron protector spray then flat iron each section 4. silk drops to tame frizz and add shine It looks really pretty at first but it quickly waves then curls up so what's missing?

Attention: All Flatironers with curly hair I need help?
Most likely what is happening is your flat iron doesn't get hot enough to seal the hair to keep it smooth. You are using all the right products, it's probably just your flat iron. This happened to me with the Hot Tools Flat Iron. $30 bucks was a good deal, but it only keeps it smooth and nice for a little while before the frizz and fluff and curls would come back...
Reply:u have to wash ur hair with any shampoo and conditioner. then blow dry it completely dry. then put kara-care hair lotion then straiten it . it should last 5 to 7 days Report It

Reply:Is your hair curling up in areas where you sweat (like the nape of your neck)? You may need to do touch ups during the day. Or, you may need to consider having your hair relaxed a bit to get continuous smooth look. Also, try sleeping with a satin pillow or pillowcase. This is a known trick for waking up without bedhead, and avoiding wrinkles; the satin allows your hair and skin to move freely rather than get stretched and pulled during the night. Otherwise, you may need to upgrade to a Chi or Hai flat iron- my $30 flat iron worked great for a few months, but then not so much. I eventually decided to get a HAI, and it works much better.

For hair products, I always recommend Kiehl's silk groom or Aveda Hang Straight creme.
Reply:Your hair may just be too curly to stay straight. If I were you, I would concentrate on eliminating the frizz and making your curls fabulous. The number 1 reason why curly haired people want straight hair is because they have a cut and styling technique not right for curly hair, and they think that the reason their hair looks bad is because of the curls. If you get the right technique and cut to make your curls outstanding, trust me, you will love them.
Reply:There is nothing wrong with what you are useing maybe you should ask you stylist/hair dresser for help but i have the same straightener and i also have to use my other one!!!! but i dont know!!! If you dont already try to blow dry it!!!! and amybe get another one to see if it is just the strightener!!!

Are redken or kenra products any good?

i use matrix color smart shampoo and biosilk conditioner. they are both weighing down my hair too much my hair is bone dry and stringy with split ends. i tried basically every professioanl product on the wall, except kenra or redken. are they any good? and if they suck, what are your suggestions for products/tips???? thanks.

Are redken or kenra products any good?
I've had great luck with Kenra, I love it!

If your hair is dry even after using a conditioner, try a leave-in conditioner, unless your hair is fine - then that will weigh it down too much. Kenra has a Daily Provision leave in that is really lightweight. I really love it!

http://www.beauty-mart.com/user/catalogu...

Hope that helps! :)
Reply:Redken NO!!!! I used that and my entire forehead broke out.
Reply:Maybe they arent weighing down your hair you need to clarify your hair once a week which strips all the build-up from products on the hair. DOnt go buy a special shampoo, just add 1/8 tsp baking soda to your present shampoo, rinse and then use a good moisturizing conditioner-leave it in for 20 minutes and rinse. Leave your hair alone for the rest of the day. I always do this on a Sunday when I tend to stay home more. Then like Wednesday use a protein-K pak from Joico is the best. Follow the same procedure baking soda w/ shampoo, then k-pak for 10 minutes. Rinse. Try not to leave a bunch of products in your hair, esp. any silkers or things to make your hair shiny-they tend to build up really fast. If this doesnt work, take a look at other things in your life-how are you eating? Taking vitamins? Lots of things can affect your hair-tanning in a taning bed, being outside-these are big contributors to dry hair. Good luck
Reply:i hear what your saying, it feels like ive tried almost every salon brand products and NOTHING works. i have problems with aplit ends as well and find that very moisturizing conditioner help alot, from the drugstore i like aussie three minute deeeeep and from the salon i like redken all soft shampoo and heavy cream (i found that the conditioner didnt work for me) and also biolage ultra hydrating balm. ivenever tryed kenra though. also try not washing your hair so much, if its dry 2-3 times a week would be good. good luck!
Reply:I personally LOVE Redken's Color Extend line--when used properly, that is. (that's to the girl who said Redken made her break out--why are you putting hair products on your face?)

Anyway, I've been highlighting my hair regularly for almost 3 years now and Redken is all I'll use. Its helped to keep my hair shiny, smooth, and manageable despite all I've done to it--lol :) On an everyday basis, all I need to use is the shampoo and condtioner. For styling, I use Redken's leave-in conditioner called "Plump Treat". It adds body and shine without weighing my hair down. I've never had a problem with their shampoos weighing down my hair, either.

Hope I helped :)
Reply:Redken shampoo has a reputation for being very gentle. I don't know anything about their other products, but Redken shampoo is good for cleaning damaged hair

Pureology and Kerastase....which is better?

I've heard good things about the Pureology and Kerastase shampoos and conditioners.....does anyone use these products? I have extremely dry hair and I have tried a number of products ranging from Biosilk to Redken (both of which were recommended by my stylist) with no luck. It's getting really brittle and dull looking. I blow dry only when I am going outside because it is so cold, and I straighten my hair once or twice a week. It has been colored in the past 2 months also. Which product line would be better for my thirsty hair?

Pureology and Kerastase....which is better?
I like Kerastase however they only sell to a few select salons. Have you tried putting some Silk Infusion from Chi on your hair before it dries? That is another very good product for you. It looks like an oil, comes in a plastic silver bottle with a red cap and writing. Put a dab into your palms and go over your hair with it. A drop goes a long long way.
Reply:Kerastase is way better.

What can I do with my dry, brittle hair?

I straighten my hair every day and although I protect it with quality serums like Biosilk and Redken, my hair still tends to spaz out. My hair is naturally a little bit wavy, but mostly poofy and frizzy. I straighten my hair because it's easy and I don't have to spend a lot of time on it.

What products or techniques can I use to make my hair look healthier?

What can I do with my dry, brittle hair?
Hop in the shower everyday and wash it ( i recommend Aussie shampoo and conditioner) When ur ready to get out of the shower make sure ur hair is totally wet and dont dry it. Get dressed and then use a COMB to brush it out with. when ur done getting all the knots out put ur head in the sink and wet it one more time. Comb through one more time not worrying about knots and then shake it like a dog would. Back and Forth, back and forth. Then puff it up and pamper ur hair with ur hands. Then its time for gel. Put about the same amount of gel as u would conditioner. Then run through ur hair and then use a brush or comb and run it down through ur hair. shake and fluff ur hair again. Then use the hair dryer and dry ur hair so ur hair's not totally dry but so it half is and its half not. Fluff ur hair. Then use the straigtener and straighten ur hair. Then it should b dry and it should look healthy.

Reply:Real mayonaisse. Wash your hair and then use the mayonaisse as a conditioner. Leave it in for about 3 minutes after working it into your hair. Rinse and then lightly wash with a little shampoo again. It works.
Reply:Work a deep-conditioner into your hair. Then wrap a warm towel or get a plastic cap and put it on; and set under the dryer for about 5mins. Then rinse it out.
Reply:Well first, you should invest in a good Volumizing shampoo and conditioner . Second make sure you have your split ends trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks to keep hair healthy and growing. Straightening the hair with heat everyday is very damaging to hair and you should try wrapping it at night to keep it looking straight without all the heat. If you dont know how to wrap your own hair ...most salons will do it for a really low fee. If you have to do it yourself keep protecting the hair but use products specifically for dry and brittle hair. Also remember to deep -condition at least once a week to replenish moisture to your hair.
Reply:Use John Frieda Frizz Ease Straight Ahead Shampoo and John Frieda Frizz Ease Rehydrate Moisture-Binding Deep Conditioner, make sure you wash your hair every day. Try washing it at night and letting it dry naturally as long as you can. Also, don't use a brush on your hair when it's wet (personal experience, it makes your hair very frizzy and when I stopped using a brush on it, my frizz went down like 75%!!) And don't wrap your hair up in a towel (frizz). Then in the morning straighten your hair and keep using whatever serum you use. Try not to straighten it as often. Put it up in a ponytail or something. If your falls flat, use Aussie Aussome Volume Mouse before and after you style it.
Reply:Put lots of conditioner into your hair when it's dry and leave it in overnight. It makes it lovely, soft and shiny. Doesn't have to be a deep conditioner, your regular one will do. Try to use as little product as possible also. It weighs your hair down, makes it dull and damages your locks worse.

I'm stating the obvious here but you need to work from the inside out too. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of protein.

Another thing i'v heard great reports on is seaweed extract, it's supposed to be great for growing your hair, skin and nails too by making them healthy on the inside. You will find it in most health stores.
Reply:use conditioner (loads) on dry hair then wrap a warm town around ur head. Apply heat now and again and leave it on as long as poss

Dry hair and product problems...?

I have very dry hair. It feels like straw all the time. It seems like I have tried everything from Pantene to Biosilk to John Freida and no products seem to make a difference. I don't wash my hair everyday, I only blow dry or straighten a couple times a week, so I don't see how my hair can be so dry all the time. It is always breaking off and the ends split super easily. I trim it regularly, but the split ends just keep splitting. When it's wet, it looks like a rats nest of tangles. What am I doing wrong? What products REALLY work for super dry hair? What are the best shampoos and leave in treatments? Are there any home treatments/remedies that work for dry hair?.....I need something that I will notice a change with. I'm sick of spending money on products that don't work. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Dry hair and product problems...?
How come you are not going to a hairdresser? Obviously, doing it yourself is not only NOT working, but you are making it worse.
Reply:Please forget about panthene and biosilk and those market normal shampoo, try professional shampoo. which would definitely make adifferent. In im opinion, you could try bonacure repair shampoo and its treatment, and using bc moisture leave in condiiotner spray, which would definitely help you to improve your condition, however, this might take some time to see the whole effect, since you ahd use those "shampoo" had been long time.... surf the web www.kcareshop.com which sell pro hair care products in lowest price in the world........
Reply:I think you're supposed to wash you're hair everyday... I think you can use some conditioner after the shampoo and don't blow dry. Not sure though. Just a suggestion
Reply:Maybe you have hard water? A water conditioner makes a huge difference.

I use Tigi Catwalk Honey %26amp; Oatmeal Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner and really like it.

A drugstore brand I like which is sulfate-free is Paves and you can get it at Walgreens - it gives the hair great shine! I don't like their conditioner, however, it's a bit too heavy for me.

Some people swear by Joico K-pak, for deep conditioning. That I think you can get various places.

How to make you hair feel and look healthier with using hair straightener?

Whenever i wash my hair i use garnier fructis shampoo and conditioner. I just let is air dry and then i straighten it but after i straighten is i use biosilk to make my hair soft but my hair still feels damaged and not soft and not looking healthier. I do have some split ends but sometimes whenever i see some i just pull the split end out. Help me to make my hair feel and look healthier!!!

How to make you hair feel and look healthier with using hair straightener?
I have been straightening my naturally curly hair for about 3 years and I recently had to cut my hair short like up to my shoulders b/c of it. It's great now and healthy and I continue to straighten it b/c I know now that you really have to use something on your hair before you straighten it so you have something to protect against the extreme heat. I also use a Chi straightener which is the best but prolly the most damaging. I also leave conditioner on my hair for like 5 minutes that helps your hair saturate the conditioner depending how damaged it is. I use Neutrogena triple moisture conditioner and jus recently bought john frieda's blonde shampoo that is moisturizing. They work well together. biosilk is a good product to use prior to straightening any kind of shine spray will work. Just remember to get it trimmed to prevent breakage and use a deep conditioner. Also if you color your hair or get highlites that will just add to the damage. Thats what happened to me. Don't let that happen to you.
Reply:use a better conditioner. Always put a leave in protector in before styling. pantien makes an excellent product that you cannot feel or see.

throw away your iron if it isnt ceramic. gold plated ones will kill your hair.

always give you hair a few days every week to rest. Use a hot oil treatment, or an over night conditioner. Always use shampoos for dry damaged hair, even if yours isnt, it will keep you hair healthier.
Reply:use a different hair straighter get the sedu at www.sedu hair .com it really good
Reply:I use a Dove shampoo made for dry hair. It really helps my hair get silkier, and not so dry. Or you can just use a little bit more conditioner and leave it in there for a minute or two. What else helps is if you color your hair from a box the little tube of conditioner works wonders for hair.
Reply:Try getting your hair cut, first of all, then ask your hairdresser for some product to put in your hair BEFORE you straighten it, and it protects your hair from the intense heat of the flatiron. Personally, I use redkin (something like that, anyways), and I've been straightening my hair daily for 4 months and still get compliments on how soft it is...

Good luck, and I would talk to your hairdresser!!

Hair Help?

Well first of all, when I put hairspray, why does it have all this white flakes on it.My friends think it's lice so they say Iww head lice! It gets annoying though. What can I use and do to make the white go away and keep it from happening. If you are a hair stylist, I would love for you to help me.Also, did you ever had that smell that when you play in he sun,and you smell your hair,it smells? I need a good shampoo that will keep it from being stinky. And please,no mean comments I mean answers.I'm really sensitive[:[:

P.S.Iv'e heard that BioSilk is smells so good cause my hair stylist shampoos my hair with it and it smells awsome! But they're way to expensive. One bottle of it is already $13!

Hair Help?
As for the hairspray.. it could be caused by build up or if you brush your hair with hairspray in it.. I dunno if you know if you already know this but it's good for your hair to switch shampoos every few months and also to not wash it all the time. As for the smell.. I don't know how bad it is but that could just be pheremones and some guy may fall madly in love with it. However, if it really bothers you I'm sure there are cheaper, like generic brands that work and smell just as good as BioSilk, if you would rather save money. I would probably look at a place like a Sally's beauty supply or something like that.
Reply:lol..that happens to me it is when u put the hair spray close to my hair and then it feels so gunky and like wat u said white flakes if u wear your hair up it will most likely happen and some shampoo my mom gets me the Paul Michell stuff and it smell really good and works good too i hope this helps u with the flakes and the smell....good luck
Reply:yes, use a different hairspary

like the suave kind that u can spray like fer a long time

it looks kinda old fashion

srry its kinda hard to expline
Reply:Well if you're using hairspray, and it flakes.

That's usually because you are either scratching your head, or messing with your hair somehow. Dried hairspray will flake and turn white when you mess with it. Maybe you're using too much, and then touching your head. And as to your hair smelling bad, use a different shampoo.

Good luck, kid.
Reply:Aussie smells AWESOME! That's what I use. Kinda coconuty....As for hair spray, it flakes because it's drying out. If you sleep on your hair after having sprayed it, it will do that. I suggest using a spray gel, I don't think it does that.

Can shampoo/conditioner cause back acne?

i feel as though every time i use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner i get acne on my back, and i have never had this before last year

i don't know if there's a connection but it happened at the time i used L'Oreal Vive and now Infusium Moisturology

is there something in the shampoo that may cause it (I have long hair)

it just doesn't make much sense because i use Biosilk (an oily serum), and i have been using it for quite some time so i know that's not the cause.

Can shampoo/conditioner cause back acne?
Yes, depending on the ingredients in them. I have the same problem with certain brands and have to be very careful with what I use due to sensitive skin. Try switching to a previous type that you didn't have a problem with.

Good Luck!
Reply:IT CAN SIMPLY BE BECAUSE UR HAIR IS OILY BECOZ OF THE SERUM....AND IF U HAVE UR HAIR DOWN OFTEN IT COZES ACNE ON UR BACK...SO TRY WASHIN UR HAIR OFTEN N GO EZ ON THE SERUM...
Reply:I doubt it - but it's not impossible -

When you use it take a lufa to your back and scrub with soap to make sure you get off any residue -

If it only happens when you do this - discontinue the shampoo/conditioner - you have a reaction to it - (if the above won't help).
Reply:It does sound like you're allergic. Just try using a different shampoo for a few weeks and see if it clears up.

Hair Products?

I have curly hair that is above my shoulders. I really hate that about my hair, but i'm happy that when it is straightened, it's actually longer. I'm trying to find products or anything that's going to keep my hair healthy and shiny, so I can grow it out without having to cut off split ends as often.

Some good products I hear about is olive oil, Catwalk Curls Rock/Oatmeal %26amp; Honey, Bed Head, Biosilk, and Matrix.

I currently use Catwalk and have bought some bottles of Matrix smoothing shampoo/conditioner. I use Loreal Paris Mouse. Are these good products to use?

Hair Products?
yes they are. Also check out Sexy Hair products. They work really well also

Fastest way to straighten my hair?

My hair is thick and curly,

because im mixed with black and white

I have a babyliss straightener and it works good but it takes me like an hour to straighten my hair,

first i wash it and brush it.

next i brush biosilk this liquidy stuff through it,

its serum i think..

and then i blow dry it.

finally i straighten it but it takes FOREVER!

HELP!?

Fastest way to straighten my hair?
Okay I am mixed too this is what I do. I wash my hair and condiction it really really good. Then I put the styling cream in my hair to hair straighten it. Then I towel dry it. with my curls I can go out and people think I just got my hair done. I let it dry and then i blow it and then flat iron...or go to the salon.
Reply:Bad idea for a comb (BUT STILL GOOD) because it takes forever. use a straightener
Reply:Relax it!
Reply:beauty takes patience!

i recommend using a ceramic straightener, or one of those like biothermal ones, theyre called something like that... sorry...

but yes. use a product to prevent frizz, probably letting it air dry will help it be less frizzy cuz blow drying makes it poofy.
Reply:talk to a hair stylist and see if you could get your hair chemically straightened.

it stays straight for a long period of time, even after a shower.
Reply:well, before you jump to chemicals, i would say try to train you hair to do it for you, wash it and comb it out while you wash it and then put it in big braids and let it air dry then just take out the braids and add a thermal conditioner and use the flat irons on medium, may not be faster necessarily, but it is less stress on you hair. hope it helps. good luck!
Reply:well, u can either get ur hair relaxed or set it in big rollers for ultimate straightening then blow dry ur roots. remember curly hair is thirsty hair so condition it regularly.
Reply:HOT IRON STRAIGHT-R
Reply:a chi flat iron, they're expensive but they're amazin!
Reply:get it chemically straightened
Reply:that meanz that the straightner is bad try a new better straightner.

Wavy hair?

i have wavy hair. its light as hell when i wash it with clear shampoo. it feels really nice . it feels great til i put biosilk or leave in conditioner in it , then it gets sticky as hell. and i only use the tiniest amount. ive heard people with wavy hair need light products, is this true? is it ok for me to put nothing in my hair? i like it better with nothing, but i feel like i have to put SOMETHING in..

Wavy hair?
I have wavy hair too. I have to use something just so I can comb it. If your hair feels nice and isn't dried out by not putting anything on it then I would just use the shampoo.

Shampoo&Conditioner Recomendations?

i have dark brown hair, sometimes its frizzy but not to an extreme, it's not too long of a length, but it lacks a little life sometimes.

i want a shampoo%26amp;conditioner that'll make my hair smooth, soft, and oh so shiny =] but also that's healthy for my hair. something that tames the little friziness in me, MUST smell good and has a little bounce to it, so it doesn't seem like my hair is .. dead. you know??

the only shampoo%26amp;conditioner that i've really liked is BioSilk. I used it once and i really liked it, but i'm open to trying other products as well. I heard RedKen was good, but it doesn't smell good =[ Any others like Paul Mitchel or Bumble%26amp;Bumble??

Any recomendations would be helpful, but i'll also need a why to it to. Thanks!

Shampoo%26amp;Conditioner Recomendations?
The shampoos sold in drug stores and grocery stores tend to be more detergent than anything else. Visit a reputable salon or a hairdresser supply store. The stylist or staff will be able to make recommendations when they see your hair. They have been trained to know their products and can help you choose the product that will perform on your hair type
Reply:I prefer bumble and bumble but i can be expensive at salons. Look on sites like ebay for the best deals
Reply:Okay I really like Aussie moist Shampoo and conditioner, it does all of thouse things, and if you want some serious bounce use the aussie moist shampoo with the Aussie Volumizing conditioner.
Reply:sunsilk brunette expressions....shampoo and conditioner and colour boost
Reply:i use herbal essences it work great! and they have all diff. kinds

if u want volume or if u want it straight not frizzy or whatever they have it. i use long term relationship shampoo from herbal essences and it does it all
Reply:I use Herbal Essences, None of Your Frizzness. Well, I used it when I had long and frizzy hair.....

Glad I could help
Reply:I also have frizzy hair and there is a shampoo from Sephora that really helped me. Ojon hair. It really helps tame the frizz. Another brand of shampoo that's volumes hair is Jonathan shampoo.

Heat protection?

I'm getting a Sedu hair straightener and want to know the best products to use against the heat. I'm leaning on Sedu Smoothing Heat Protecting Boost, and BioSilk Silk Therapy. Please help!

Heat protection?
i recommend heat protection serum from frizz ease by john frieda. that's what i use. never used anything else...

What do use on your hair?

My hair always ends up a little frizzy and dried out looking. I used biosilk or chi oil stuff. When I sleep on my hair it usually calms it down but what about on the days I take a shower in the morning?? How do I get shiny, frizz free, perfect hair?

What do use on your hair?
well, i use herbal essences moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. straightening it also can give it shine, while allowing you to style it the way you want to. garnier fructis has a product called soothing milk that you put in your hair after you shower and it really moisturized your hair and makes it pretty soft. and of course, getting a great hair cut from a really good professional can always help your hair to look better and cut down on the frizz (a lot of times it has to do with split ends)

with time you will find out what works for you, but i dont recomend the oil that you are using. a lot of times that stuff can just either make your hair greasy or it wont make a difference at all.
Reply:you can try washing you hair only every other day with shampoo and just conditioner it every day. orrr you can but these pill capsuls things at the store. i think they are vitamin E and also called fish oil. But you put that on for about an hour and wash it off and your hair will be silky =] also if you go a few days with out washing your hair (i know its gross) when you do wash it, it will get silky because of the oils your hair makes. hope i helped
Reply:There are heaps of anti-frizz serums on the market. You need to find one that works for you. Also don't shampoo every day - just use conditioner. Shampoo at most every other day or more if you can. A flat iron would also work.
Reply:Try Pantene products, everyones hair different is different do you try straightening or blowing drying in the mornings. You may want to let a beatucian work on your hair and tell you what products to use.
Reply:frederic fekkai products are always the best. look up some of his at sephora.com

What is the BEST detangling/detangler conditioner to long naturally curly hair?

I have naturally curly (mid-back length). I get horrible tangles %26amp; knots everyday %26amp; it takes me at least 15 minutes to comb them out after the shower %26amp; after using a handfull of conditioner.

It seems I've tried EVERYTHING on the market.. infusium, biosilk, tigi, redkin all soft, redkin smooth down, pantene, paul mitchell detangler... Some work better than others, but nothing helps me reduce the tangles or comb them out easier.

Does anyone with similar problems know of a miracle product I haven't found yet?

Much appreciated!!

What is the BEST detangling/detangler conditioner to long naturally curly hair?
Try organic root stimulator hair mayonnaise(*warning* protein conditioner) or Olive oil replenishing paks, you say you have mid back curly hair so you might want to buy about eight paks, they're only 1.18 per pack(where I live anyways.) then comb out the tangles while the conditioner is in your hair. You might also want to invest in a Denman brush, they are especially for women with curly hair.

The reason I said warning, protein conditioner, is because if you do to many back to back protein conditioning then it begans to break the hair.
Reply:Garnier Fructise. Brush from the bottom and work your way up.
Reply:I like conditioner by Grenedier. It really leaves hair smooth and tangle free. Try it!
Reply:My daughter has mid back length wavy/curly tangles and we use Suave kids detangler. I don't know if it is the "best" but it is cheap enough to give it a try and see if it works for you.
Reply:Do you comb the conditioner through your hair with a wide tooth comb in the shower? That will help alot. The conditioners that you mention are all good conditioners. After shampooing, wring out the excess water carefully and gently prior to putting in the conditioner. Grab your hair like your putting a ponytail in and only put the conditioner in the long part of your hair. I would put in small amounts at a time, sectioning it as you go, to make sure that you are coating all of the hair. When you shampoo your hair, the part that needs to be shampooed well is your scalp and the hair closest to the scalp. The rest of your hair just needs to have the shampoo put through it lightly, it does not need to be suds up. Do you get frequent trims? Dry, split ends will tangle easier.
Reply:I also have naturally curly hair....

If you're using anything cheap from a grocery store shelve...( this includes Pantene)...that's half your problem. You probably have a buildup on your hair.

You need to go to a salon and have them strip the buildup off your hair and remoisturize it. It shouldn't cost more than the price of getting your hair shampooed.

Do not feel bad about giving your scalp a good scrub. It stimulate blood flow to the hair follicle and promate healthier hair. You can't prevent spilt ends...it's inevitable. However, you can keep them under control with regular trims.

Start at the hairline and work your way to the nape of the neck. Apply enough pressure with the pads of your fingers or your nails...whatever feels best to you.

Professional products are always best as the don't buildup on the hair as fast and hey are formulated to build strength and elasticity within the hairshaft.

There are 2 important things to remember when you're conditioning....

1. Squeeze the excess water out of your hair before you apply the conditioner. Your hair is like a sponge. If you put a soaking wet sponge on water....it won't do anything because it's full of water. If your hair is full of water....the conditioner will go down the drain. If you put a damp sponge on water....it soaks the water up. The same thing happens with damp hair...the conditioner will go INTO the hairshaft.

2. Rinse the conditioner with lukewarm water. Luke warm to your hands...it will feel slightly cool on your head. If you use very hot water...you will open the cuticle layer and flush out all the conditiner you just put in...back down the drain. Luke warm water will rinse the excess off the outside of the hairshaft....but the inside will retain the what you put in.

Apply a thermal proctectant to the hair prior to blowdrying.

Finally finish with a moisturizing leave-in conditoner. This can be applied to wet or dry hair.

Some suggestions for product:

Loma

Hydrating Shampoo

Hydrating Conditoner

Pearitin Serum

Paul Brown Hawaii

Booster ( Thermal protectant)

Always use professional products, they are formulated to not buildup on the hair as fast and to actually strengthen the hairshaft. You can try all the little concoctions people suggest....but the bottom line is you hair will grow from the root no matter what you do to the already grown hair. Once the hair has left the follicle...it's consider dead keratin protien. You just need to treat it right so it stays looking nice.
Reply:L'Oreal Kids has a detangling spray that smells like pears and works wonders on wet OR dry hair.

I can't recommend this product enough.
Reply:Curl Life, by Matrix

Sleek Look by Matrix

They're both for naturally curly hair. If you straighten it a lot, then use the Sleek Look. If you leave it curly all the time, then Curl Life works better. Just use a dime- or nickle-sized ammount.
