What is a good product to use to protect you hair when using a straightner?

What is a good product to use to protect you hair when using a straightner?
There are many elements in nature that can be stressors for your hair. Think about it, the harshness of brushing, chlorine, elements in water, and all the numerous ways to hold up your hair (ponytail holders anyone?) In addition to all these things that we cannot avoid, straightening can also be very damaging to your hair. You have the right idea to look for a good hair product for treatment. I would first recommend buying a good shampoo and conditioner. I recommend Biolage or Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. . For most of the week I would use these products but for one day out of the week it is a good idea to use a Clarifying shampoo. A clarifying shampoo has one job and that is to remove buildup of gels, mousses, pomades and other products that weigh down your hair with regular use. Biolage and Paul Mitchell are both great candidates for this shampoo as well. After shampooing and conditioning, apply a leave-in-conditioner to your hair. I also recommend that once ever week or so use a deep, leave in conditioning treatment such as Paul Mitchell The Masque, which is an intensive treatment. I realize that these products can be rather pricey but every hairstylist I have asked said that these products make a huge difference and are well worth the money compared to products such as Fructise, Herbal Essences, and John Frieda

Reply:Are you talking about a heat straightener or chemical? I use a ceramic flat iron and to protect it I use a Nexxus product for heat protection. It is a spray bottle with a funky sprayer. I am not at home, so I can't tell you the exact name. You can get it at any drug store. I also have used Biosilk, which I love, when I ran out I bought some John Frieda Frizz ease extra strength which works just as good.
Reply:Use a Heat Protector, You can like get it a any Wal*Mart=)
